Participant’s discover their unique sensory profile and preferences. They learn the skills to implement sensory based strategies to both activities and their environments to improve occupational performance and participation in daily life.

TARGET GROUP

Individuals with:

  • Sensory sensitivities.

  • Difficulties with emotional regulation.

  • Activity levels which are too high/too low.

  • Difficulties with relaxation.

ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES

  • Increased social support

  • Participants can identify strategies to support emotional regulation.

  • Participants can independently implement sensory strategies to their environments.

  • Participants gain a unique set emotional regulation tools and safety plan

TOPICS INCLUDE ...

  • Introduction, and safety.

  • Exploring the eight senses.

  • How sensory modulation works.

  • Creating sensational spaces.

  • Participating in sensational activities.

  • Sensory modulation and healthy living: eating, leisure, substance misuse

  • Safety planning.

  • Maintaining recovery: self-advocacy, awareness, reflections.
